This is a high-performance Mini 4WD plastic model assembly kit featuring a shaft-driven four-wheel-drive system.

First released in 1984, The Grasshopper played a major role in the RC buggy boom of the 1980s. Loved by enthusiasts for over 40 years, it remains one of Tamiya's most iconic RC models.

Now, the legendary buggy has been recreated as The Grasshopper Jr., bringing the original's simple yet distinctive design and lively driving characteristics to the world of Mini 4WD, whilst retaining the authentic spirit of the classic RC model.

Inspired by a full-size single-seater racing buggy, the model features a sleek, slim body with realistically reproduced details, including fog lamps, front suspension and a roll-bar-equipped cockpit complete with a driver figure.

Stickers featuring the iconic grasshopper emblem, "The GRASSHOPPER TEAM" logo and racing numbers are included to recreate the classic appearance.

The model is built on the compact, lightweight and race-ready VZ chassis, offering excellent performance and customisation potential whilst capturing the unmistakable character of the original RC buggy.

VZ Chassis – Designed for Strength and Versatility

The VZ chassis is an evolution of the popular VS chassis, renowned for its compact dimensions, lightweight construction and short wheelbase.

Whilst retaining the excellent manoeuvrability and ease of maintenance of the VS chassis, the VZ introduces several improvements to enhance strength, durability and customisation flexibility.

• Reinforced Construction: Improved strength around the bumpers, rear stay mounting points and propeller shaft bearings.

• Excellent Manoeuvrability: Retains the responsive handling and straightforward maintenance of the VS chassis.

• Shock Absorption: Carefully engineered chassis flexibility helps absorb impacts during racing.

• Greater Customisation Potential: Both the front bumper and rear roller stay can be detached, allowing a wider range of racing set-ups.

• Low-Friction Bearings: Equipped with 620 plastic bearings made from POM resin to minimise friction.

• Durable ABS Construction: The chassis body, gear covers and A parts are moulded in black ABS resin.

• Gear Ratio: 4.2:1 for a balanced combination of speed and performance.
